The terms for using AltLoad, its builds and this website.
Effective 25 September 2026Version 1.0
The short version
This summary is for convenience only. The full terms below are what apply.
AltLoad is free and open source. It installs AltStore on your iPhone using your own Apple ID.
You are responsible for your Apple ID, your device, and following Apple's terms and the law.
Use it only for apps you have the right to use. No piracy.
We don't collect your data. Your password goes only to Apple.
AltLoad comes "as is", with no warranty. Sideloading has risks.
We're not affiliated with Apple, AltStore, SideStore or StikDebug.
1About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to the AltLoad app, its source code at github.com/mirazbakis/AltLoad, the builds published there, and this website (together, the "Service"). The Service is provided by Miraz Bakis ("we", "us").
By downloading, building, installing or using AltLoad, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2What AltLoad is
AltLoad is a free, open-source iOS app. It installs and refreshes AltStore directly on your iPhone or iPad, without a computer. To do this it:
creates a pairing file on your device using iOS's wireless pairing;
signs in to Apple's developer services with your Apple ID to create a development certificate and provisioning profiles;
downloads AltStore from its official source, signs it, and installs it on your device.
We don't host, sell or distribute AltStore or any other app. We don't run accounts, and there's nothing to buy. Builds on GitHub are provided unsigned. You sign and install them yourself.
3Who can use AltLoad
You may use AltLoad only if you can form a binding agreement where you live, and if you meet Apple's age and eligibility requirements for the Apple ID you use. If you use AltLoad for an organisation, you confirm you're allowed to accept these Terms on its behalf.
4Your Apple ID and Apple's terms
AltLoad acts on your behalf with your Apple ID. You are responsible for:
keeping your Apple ID and password secure, and for everything done with them;
following Apple's terms that apply to you, including the Apple Media Services Terms and, where relevant, the Apple Developer Agreement and Program License Agreement;
Apple's limits. For example, with a free Apple ID apps expire after 7 days and only a few sideloaded apps can be active at once.
Apple may change its services, revoke certificates, or limit or suspend accounts at any time. That is outside our control. We recommend using a secondary Apple ID for sideloading.
5Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
install, share or facilitate apps you don't have the right to use, including pirated, cracked or otherwise unauthorised apps;
access, pair with or install software on a device or account you don't own or aren't authorised to use;
distribute malware, or break security or copy-protection measures in ways the law doesn't allow;
sell AltLoad, or offer it as, or inside, a paid product or service. See the AltLoad License;
impersonate AltLoad, or present a modified version as the official app;
break any applicable law or regulation.
6Third-party services
AltLoad works with services we don't run or control. Their own terms and privacy policies apply:
Apple: sign-in, developer services, certificates and profiles.
Anisette servers: provide the device-identity data Apple requires for sign-in. The default is SideStore's server, and you can choose another one in Settings.
AltStore: downloaded from its official source, or a source you set.
LocalDevVPN: installed separately from the App Store.
GitHub: hosts the source code, builds and this website.
We aren't responsible for third-party services, their availability, or any changes to them.
7Privacy
We don't collect your personal data. AltLoad has no analytics or tracking, and doesn't send information to us.
Your Apple ID password is sent only to Apple. If you turn on Remember password, it's stored in your device's Keychain, only readable while the device is unlocked, and never synced.
The anisette server you choose receives device-identity data needed for Apple sign-in, but never your password.
Pairing files, certificates and settings stay on your device.
GitHub may collect data when you visit this website or download builds. See GitHub's privacy statement.
If you contact us, for example by opening a GitHub issue, we'll use what you send only to respond.
8License and open source
AltLoad's source code is available under the AltLoad License, which allows free, non-commercial use, modification and sharing with attribution. Parts of AltLoad come from other open-source projects. Those parts stay under their own licenses, listed in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md. If these Terms and a software license conflict about your rights to the code, the license applies.
9No affiliation and trademarks
AltLoad is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc., AltStore or Riley Testut, SideStore, or StikDebug. Apple, iPhone, iPad and iOS are trademarks of Apple Inc. AltStore is a trademark of its owners. All other trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to describe compatibility.
10Risks of sideloading
You understand that sideloading and using developer features can have consequences, including:
apps stopping working when certificates expire or are revoked;
certificates made elsewhere being revoked when you're at your Apple ID's limit;
Apple limiting or suspending an Apple ID;
loss of app data, or AltLoad and AltStore not working on some iOS versions.
Back up anything important. You use the Service at your own risk.
11Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
Some places don't allow certain warranties to be excluded. In those places, these exclusions apply as far as the law allows.
12Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, device functionality, apps, certificates or access to an Apple ID, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to zero, or to the lowest amount the law allows. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
13Indemnity
As far as the law allows, you agree to cover us for claims, losses and costs that arise from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms or of the law.
14Ending use
You can stop using AltLoad at any time by deleting it. Apps it installed keep working until their signature expires. We may stop providing, change or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. If you break these Terms, your permission to use the Service ends.
15Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll change the effective date above and, for significant changes, mention it in the AltLoad release notes. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
16General
If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest stays in effect.
If we don't enforce a term, that doesn't mean we've given up the right to.
These Terms, together with the AltLoad License, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
Mandatory consumer-protection laws where you live still apply.
